School Counselor & Foster/Homeless Liaison
Tricia Vansant
Tricia Vansant is honored to be the counselor at Crafton Elementary. She began her education at Loyola-Marymount University as a student-athlete on the women’s basketball team. She graduated in 1991 with a degree in Liberal Studies, and completed the Teaching Credential program in 1992. Then she graduated from the University of Redlands in 1998 with a Master of Arts degree in School Counseling, as well as receiving her PPS credential. She taught her very first class in 1993 in Los Angeles. She moved on to Fontana Unified where she taught sixth, seventh, and eighth grades for eleven years. When she came to Redlands she taught third, fourth, fifth and sixth grades at Franklin Elementary, Judson & Brown Elementary, and Cope Middle School. After spending 24 years in the classroom, she decided that she wanted to be more of a support for younger students. Tricia has since earned two specialist certifications in Cultural Competency, and Anxiety from the American School Counseling Association. Tricia believes in focusing on the whole child (academics and social emotional), values equity, and believes that every human being has their own story. It’s her mission to support children and families with anything and everything they need to help them live their best lives.
